The Los Angeles Rams hired Mike LaFleur

The Los Angeles Rams have made a major move in their coaching staff by hiring former New York Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur as their new offensive coordinator.

The team announced on Friday night.

LaFleur, who is the younger brother of Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, comes to the Rams with a wealth of experience in coaching offenses.

He has spent the past four seasons as the Jets' offensive coordinator, helping to develop quarterback Sam Darnold and working with a talented group of skill players.

Before joining the Jets, LaFleur spent time as an offensive assistant with the Cleveland Browns and the Atlanta Falcons, working under head coaches Mike Pettine and Dan Quinn, respectively.

He also spent time as a quality control coach with the Houston Texans and the Washington Football Team.

The hiring of LaFleur is a big step for the Rams, who are looking to improve their offense in the upcoming season.

The team struggled on that side of the ball in 2020, finishing 21st in total yards and 27th in points scored.

With LaFleur's experience and knowledge, the Rams hope to turn things around and become a more dynamic and dangerous offense.

Rams head coach Sean McVay is excited about the addition of LaFleur to his staff. "Mike is a talented coach and we're excited to add him to our team," McVay said in a statement.

"He has a wealth of experience and has done a great job developing offenses throughout his career. We're looking forward to him bringing that same success to the Rams."

LaFleur is also excited to join the team, saying in a statement, "I am thrilled to join the Los Angeles Rams and work with Sean McVay and his staff.

The Rams have a talented roster and I can't wait to get to work and help the team reach its full potential on the offensive side of the ball.
